As part of the Horizon 2020 Programme, a pilot programme is now open to support SMEs to recruit post-doctoral research associates from other countries to explore an innovation business idea.
The aim of this pilot is to overcome barriers for European SMEs and start-ups to the recruitment of highly qualified specialists that are not available on the national job market, but whose knowledge could be crucial to open up opportunities for innovation and significant growth.
As this is a pilot programme which also aims to test the feasibility of increasing access to talent for SMEs, the recruitment of a researcher will be for a fixed period aligned to the Academic year in most European countries.
Interested SMEs must complete the SME self-assessment questionnaire in the Beneficiary Register of the Research and Innovation Participant Portal to apply for a grant.
Companies will be provided with the following support from the European Commission:
• International visibility of the vacancy notice
• Financial support to the recruitment of PhDs - including the salary of the researcher for one year
• Tailored training assistance to the PhDs and the supervisors in the company
Selected SMEs will be able to publish their job offer between 1 March and 30 April 2017
