Inspiring Global Citizenship with Solar Lights for Schools AND Helping Cities Renew their Energy
About this event
Join us for our latest one hour webinar, introduced by Future South Chair Ben Earl.
Namene Solar and Absolar will present solutions that have a Global Impact as well as one that is working now in a Hampshire City
Our speakers today are Francesca Shirley of Namene Solar and Phil Wu of Absolar (winners of the prestigious David Green Award)
Namene Solar's International Schools Programme centres around a Build One; Give One activity which sees students build their solar light in class, with an additional light donated to their peers in Sub-Saharan Africa. Educating students about solar energy, the need to help young people in extreme poverty live in a learning environment, and how to minimise their carbon footprints to tackle the injustice of climate change and safeguard the future.
Absolar use their award winning Artificial Intelligence system to calculate the energy that can be harvested from the rooftops in any City. This helps to reduce carbon emissions as well as providing a secure and cheaper energy source for citizens.
