Low Carbon Solent is pleased to launch its new programme of support aimed to assist small businesses to launch their Clean Growth innovations, through a series of fully funded innovation focussed webinars. These innovation focussed webinars will run over a course of 5 weeks and are designed to help businesses understand the role and components of pitch deck creation to help facilitate future opportunities, such as tendering opportunities, collaboration or funding requests.

What will I learn?
The sessions will be broken down into 5 weekly webinars via Zoom, each focussing on specific areas of an innovative pitch deck solution. These include:
• Communicating the problem and highlighting the innovative solution
• Customer focussed innovations and product launches
• Strengths and weaknesses via an Innovation Model Canvas
• Highlighting major blind spots such as Intellectual Property Protection
• Creating a strategic analysis to maximise the market positioning.
• Introduction to 3-way forecasting
• Do’s and don’ts of financial statements
• Showcasing the team involved and what happens next
Who should attend?
These webinars are free for members of the Low Carbon Solent Project, who are currently developing Clean Growth innovations that will have a positive impact on the environment and future societies. Any businesses that meet the EU definition of an SME are welcome to register their interest in these events.

Essential Information:
Session 1: Introduction – Monika Dabrowska (1.5 hours)
Purpose: Understand the role and components of a pitch deck; showcase the project problem and innovative solution.
Content:
• How to build a successful pitch deck to showcase your Clean Growth innovation
• The purpose of the pitch,
• The components of successful investor pitches.
• The story telling – how to begin,
• The problem and innovative solution giving enough information to make it understandable to those outside of the industry.
Session 2: Sustainable Innovation – Dr John Richardson (3 hours)
Purpose: Understand why new products & innovations fail by focussing on Customer Focused Innovations and ensuring the innovative solution fits with the customer needs.
Content:
• Knowledge of the market,
• Analysing competitive products,
• Execution of product launch,
• Product strategies.
Session 3: Innovation Modelling – Clive Bonny (2 hours)
Purpose: To successfully communicate the key activities which allows for successful outcomes for the innovative solutions being presented.
Content:
• Summarising strengths and weaknesses on an Innovation Model Canvas,
• Communicating enterprise vision and values,
• Communicating ESG standards,
• Covering Intellectual property blind spots and what is needed,
• Data room requirements such as cash flow management, competitors & suppliers.
Session 4: Positioning your innovation in the market – Adrian Price (2 hours)
Purpose: To develop the strategic analysis to best place the Clean Growth innovation in the competitive market.
Content:
• Introduction to three-way forecasting,
• Defining the unmet need of the innovative solution,
• Highlighting the ten key areas to focus on for strategic analysis,
• The do’s & don’ts of managing accounts and financial statements.
Session 5: Innovation pitch deck development session - Monika Dabrowska (1.5 hours)
Purpose: Showcase the team and investment in the pitch deck; presentation techniques.

• Partners and resources
• Project landscape, milestones, what is needed and what for
• Funding opportunities – grants, crowdfunding, multiple investors
• Pitching presentation techniques - useful hints and tips
• Pitch deck do’s and don’ts
• Supportive documents: Business Plan and Application for new shares

Monika Dabrowska
Monika Dabrowska is the Founder and Director of Innovaction Global Ltd, an innovation consulting company that helps organisations improve performance and achieve their goals and vision by raising grants and managing R&D funded projects.
Monika has over 10 years of experience in obtaining EU and UK grant funding and providing management for R&D and investment projects to public and private organisations. During Monika’s career, she provided business support, coaching and mentoring on team management, business model, business planning, international market strategy, investment readiness, access to funding and finance. Working with maritime, healthcare, energy and IT companies, she is adding value to teams looking for intelligent, insightful information.

Dr John Richardson
John joined the Business School at the University of Winchester in 2012 as a Senior Lecturer in Innovation Management, delivering Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship Modules at both UG and PG levels. He is an experienced Innovation Advisor/Consultant with a passion for Knowledge.
John’s areas of expertise include; Business Innovation, Product Development, Creativity, Strategic Innovation, and Design Thinking.
Clive Bonny
Since 1990 Clive has operated as a strategic management partner, management mentor and coach in association with professional bodies building capacity in private enterprises and public sector for growth and responsible business sustainability.
Clive’s scope of work includes designing and delivering programmes for fast growth development, widening supply chains, IP innovations, HR productivity, quality process improvement, merger and acquisition due diligence, and international business development.
Adrian Price
Adrian has been an Equity partner for 30 years in various regional accountants retiring at one of the top 20 practices Menzies LLP in 2015, but still delivering sector consultancy to them. Currently an Entrepreneur in Residence at Southampton University and heavily involved with the SIGHT programme at Portsmouth University helping nearly 200 MedTech start-ups.
Adrian’s particular interests include manufacturing, technology, logistics, and leisure sectors, but effectively helps to develop and grow businesses during his whole career.
